Dhara – Showcase Your Talent, presented by Kathak Club, is an Online Kathak Dance Competition that celebrates the spirit, grace, and elegance of Kathak. It offers dancers a unique platform to display their talent, connect with fellow performers worldwide, and perform from the comfort of their homes.
The competition will be conducted in two rounds — the first on 30th November and the final on 7th December. For those who have never had the chance to showcase their Kathak skills in front of an audience, Dhara is a golden opportunity to express your artistry, rhythm, and devotion through the timeless beauty of Kathak.

From all registered participants, some dancers from each category will be shortlisted for the final round based on their performance.
Finale Round: 7th December 2025
The top 3 winners from each category will be selected by our expert judges.
Both rounds will be evaluated by Four experienced judges from the Kathak fraternity.
1st Prize: Rs. 11,000/-
2nd Prize: Rs. 5,100/-
3rd Prize: Rs. 2,100/-
Certificate of Participation: Every participant will receive a certificate from Kathak Club, appreciating their effort, skill, and dedication to the art of Kathak.
Special Recognition for Runners-Up: Two runners-up securing the 4th and 5th positions will receive 1 month of free practice session access from Kathak Club.

Dr. Shobha Kausar belongs to the prestigious Jaipur Gharana and received her formal training in Kathak under the guidance of her gurus, Kanhaiya Lal and Kundan Lal Gangani. A top-graded artist of Prasar Bharati, she has been honoured with numerous prestigious awards, including the National Award from the Sangeet Natak Akademi. At the age of 80, Dr. Kausar continues to be an inspiration in the world of classical dance. In an exclusive conversation with Amar Ujala, she shared several heartfelt experiences from her remarkable journey in dance, reflecting her lifelong dedication and passion for the art form.
Sanjukta Sinha is a unique and talented Kathak dancer known for her grace and mastery of the art form. She blends traditional Kathak with her own creative style, performing across India and abroad. Over the years, she has worked with many renowned artists and earned great respect in the dance world. In 2016, she received the prestigious Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar. In October 2019, she founded the Sanjukta Sinha Dance Company in Ahmedabad to train and inspire future dancers.
Ms. Rashmi Uppal is a well-known Kathak dancer and teacher, especially in Jaipur. She is the founder of Nityam, her dance institute, where she trains many young Kathak students. Through her dedication, she has helped keep the beauty of this classical dance form alive. Her work reflects both passion and commitment to Kathak. She continues to inspire the next generation of dancers with her art.
Akash Dwivedi is a young and talented Kathak exponent known for his graceful stage presence and captivating personality. Trained under renowned gurus like Pt. Jai Kishan Maharaj, Pt. Birju Maharaj, and Kumudini Lakhia, he has mastered the art of Kathak with dedication and passion. A science graduate from Kanpur University, Akash holds an M.A. in Kathak Dance and has received the CCRT National Scholarship. He is also a graded artist of Doordarshan and an empanelled artist of Spic Macay. Apart from dance, Akash is an accomplished painter and yoga trainer, known for his mesmerizing performances at prestigious festivals across India.
